Hello hobbyists around the world,

Ever since I started Bettafanism, there have been numerous requests from foreigners to export my stocks to various countries. Due to circumstances, I had to reject these offers. I thank you guys sincerely and it's an honour to have interests outside of Singapore. I will explain why I cannot fufil these requests.

Firstly, to export fishes overseas in Singapore, I will need to have a transhipper license which only a few of Singapore's fish farms have the rights to. A simple blogshop like mine will never have the rights.

Secondly, the transhippers in Singapore deal frequently with neighbouring countries such as Thailand and Malaysia. Hence, to collaborate with them to ship to places such as USA and India is almost impossible as well.

Thirdly, being a small scaled, hobbyist-oriented blogshop, sales have been done in a view-and-agree on the spot system. Thus, cases of refunds or replacements are very rare. I cannot really afford to practice the standard protocol of "replacement when dead on arrival".

I hope my explainations will give you guys a better understanding of Bettafanism's situation in shipping bettas. Once again, I am very thankful for the kind support. Now, I proudly introduce some updates of my Red Gold HMPK spawn and Black Dragon HMPK. Very delighted that my Black Dragon HMPK gained a full masking!

And good news, my Super Black OHMPK spawned with a fabulous Super Black female borrowed from my friend. Will be raising them eagerly as I have high expectations for this spawn!

Some update of fries...

Hello Bettafanism Patrons,

With regards to my Gold x White Platinium spawn, here's some updates. Finnage is developing very well, the end result is the old school Red Gold colouration - Shiny whitish scales on the body with a bit of golden touch, yet not as thick of a dragon. And with a uniform redness on the finnage. Seen this colouration years back way before the dragons emerged, didn't know they can come from pure Gold x pure White Platinium.

Remember the Black Dragon HMPK I posted some time back? He is the father of a spawning project I did jointly with my friend. Unfortunately, its a very small spawn of 2 pairs. Thus, we kept one pair each. Here's my male, it's a pity that it is such a small spawn. Only 1month+ in age.

Hello I-Love-Bettas-People,

For quite some time, informative betta discussions had been carried out in my Chatbox on the right hand corner of this blog. Sadly, these discussions are non permanent and cannot be refered back to.

Hence, let me introduce to you guys a new betta discussion forum administrated by my friend:

I will be rather active in the forum using my standardised nickname "Bettafanatic", so feel free to ask any betta-related questions that are potentially long or commonly asked (so it can be referred to in the future).

Of course, my chatbox will still be open to betta related discussions, so still feel free to post here as well. Preferably specific questions for me or minor issues. Questions like "Genetics" are more desired for the forum.

Old School Halfmoon

Hello fish lovers,

It's a fish sharing post again. This time, let me present you guys with an old school colour and finnage type. Blackhead Turquiose Halfmoon!

I guess when it comes to gracefulness the Halfmoons beat Halfmoon Plakats hands down with their beautiful and elegant fins. Considering breeding him but finding a suitable female is a problem and sadly, the demand should be low for such old school types of betta. Will ponder upon though.

Gold success

Hi my friends,

Approximately four weeks ago, I mentioned crossing my Gold HMPK with my White Platinium HMPK female, and I did. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was hoping that Gold will be a more dominant metallic colour, and achieve a high yield of golds, as getting whites with gold genetics will not be very favourable. And with luck, Gold is indeed more dominant genetically and I am getting 100% Gold HMPKs from this spawn. Just to share their progress with a picture.

Hope their goldness will intensify with good maskings and finnages. Look forward to their release at the end of May! Also, there might be more White Platinium HMPKs at the end of May as well, continuing my always going White Platinium line.

Good news for Halfmoon lovers, I managed to get my hands on a fraction of a fellow breeder's spawn. I must say the finnage is really good and I am having colourations like Copper, Melano Black and Black Copper HMs. One pair is already for sale, do check out the stocklist. I must say Halfmoons are truly so beautiful and graceful with their long finnage, enjoy the pictures! However, I only have a few males (some are healing their torn fins due to fights), and a good number of females at hand, so if the response is good I will consider getting more!

Blacky Dragons

Hello dragon and other betta lovers,

I am currently consolidating a list for you Black Dragon lovers (HMPK) out there to get your hands on some. Once my supplier informs me that he will be bringing in more Black Dragon HMPKs, I will have to inform in how many pieces of males and females to get for me. However, the exact date is unknown, and unguaranteed.

The ordering will be via SMS to me, acknowledging me about the quantity and gender. Once stocks arrive, it will be a first come first serve basis for selection.

Black Dragon HMPKs will be at $60 each, sorry for the steep pricing as thats the best I can set. The cost is very high as the market demand is sky-rocketing and the main suppliers do know about that. Quality will be unknown, but so far, I am satisfied. They are always fully side masked with neat, white scalings. Occassionally, there will be full maskings. Finnage is prominently good too with bettas from this supplier.(Thailand)

I will attach pictures at the bottom of the bloodline these Black Dragons will come from, do SMS me if interested. Details all explained in post.

Once ordered, there will be no refunds and buyers are obligated to collect their bettas by arranging a viewing at my place, Sengkang.
